Tomato Garden
In the late spring of 2007 I planted some brandywine tomato seeds, and had brandywine tomato plants! Here is a picture of a beautiful, potato-leaf brandywine tomato plant. I grew these in one gallon water jugs with the tops cut off and holes poked in the bottom. They work decent, and have cool handles, but they do need to be watered regularly as there is not much room for soil in there. Here in south Louisiana it gets so hot in the summer, the poor brandywine tomato had a hard time making fruit while battling blossom rot and the insects. But we will try growing some more brandywine tomatoes perhaps in 2009, maybe indoors until they are much hardier to face the tough conditions here. I absolutely loved the beautiful leaves of the brandywine tomato plant.
